This CPR/AED presentation is a condensed version of a formal CPR/AED class. It is for private groups only. It provides all the information a certification course does but without the hands-on training. You will not receive certification for this class. However, unless you need certification for a specific license, it doesn’t matter in a layperson setting. You either know what to do and take action, or you don’t. A certification card is just a card in your wallet—it holds no real significance in an emergency. Additionally, issuing certifications incurs costs, so to keep the class affordable, we offer this option.
This format has proven to be the best way to share vital information with the masses while keeping participants engaged and satisfied. If you decide after class that you’d like formal CPR/AED training with hands-on practice, we can schedule individual sessions. We offer 5–7 classes per week at our office training site.
A formal CPR/AED class typically lasts 2.5–4.5 hours, depending on specific requirements. This course is 90 minutes. There are no lengthy videos or hands-on skills practice. Topics covered include:
- The difference between heart attacks and cardiac arrest
- CPR procedures and appropriate emergency measures
- An in-depth discussion of how AEDs work and their importance
- How to handle strokes, drownings, and choking incidents
- How your actions in the first 10 minutes can significantly impact a patient’s outcome
- The Good Samaritan Act, to ease concerns about legal liability when helping others
We will also stay afterward for a Q&A session until all questions are answered.
This course has become the preferred option in a layperson setting for those who do not need certification and prefer a shorter, more accessible format.
